Plugged into the way your firm already works
Hourglass reads the work where it already happens, then delivers finished entries to the system your firm already bills from.
Frequently asked questions
Does Hourglass work with the billing system we already have?
Yes. Hourglass does not replace billing systems, it feeds them. There is a good chance we are already connected to yours, and finished entries arrive in it in the format it already expects, so nothing downstream of timekeeping has to change. If your system is not on our list, tell us: we are always adding to it.
See the systems Hourglass connects toDo my timekeepers have to change how they work every day?
No. They keep working exactly as they do now. Hourglass captures the work as it happens, in the tools they already use, and drafts the entries from it. All it asks of a timekeeper is that they read what has been written as they go along, rather than reconstructing a week at the end of it.
How accurate are the entries, and who reviews them?
Every entry is drafted from the actual record of the work, and no entry reaches a bill without the timekeeper approving it. Hourglass never submits on anyone’s behalf. The billing guidelines your firm and its clients have agreed to are checked before the entry is submitted, not after it comes back deducted.
How long does it take to get a firm running?
About a month. We usually start with a small pilot group so a handful of timekeepers can live with it on real matters, and once they are happy, the rest of the firm follows. There is no data migration to wait on: Hourglass connects to the systems your firm already runs and captures from that point forward.
Is privileged client work safe in Hourglass?
Every firm runs in its own deployment against its own database, encrypted in transit and at rest, with an audit record your firm can read. Nothing is pooled and nothing is shared between firms.
